What happened
MedCity News reported that Representative Frank Pallone Jr., ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, sent oversight letters to six certified IDR entities concerning their work under the No Surprises Act.
The six recipients are C2C Innovative Solutions, Commence, Dane Street, EdiPhy Advisors, National Medical Reviews, and ProPeer Resources. The committee announcement requested responses by September 24, 2026.
What the letters request
According to the committee announcement and MedCity News, the requested material includes annual dispute, eligibility, and default data beginning in 2023; information about reviewer training, credentials, compensation, internal audits, and quality controls; and explanations of any use of artificial intelligence.
The letters also seek information about high-volume filing organizations and financial, ownership, revenue, or other relationships that could bear on IDR operations.
What the inquiry does—and does not—change
The letters are an oversight request. They do not themselves amend No Surprises Act deadlines, change eligibility standards, revise the QPA methodology, or alter the requirements for open negotiation and federal IDR submissions.
